Amazing to see that the original posting was Nov 2005 .... AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED!! (lol)

Moving on, we're now at the Olympics and RTE once again have failed to offer any decent coverage at all. Lots of reporters and presenters who haven't a clue about the sport they're commenting on. The evening reports sound like they've been recorded in a broom closet. They even dredged up the that old "fouggie" Ronan Collins to report on the .... weight lifting!

But overall, most in the know will tell you how RTE has operated for years. Nepetism is rife and people are hired because of who they know and not because of talent. The same old "dinosaurs" are still there and unless you can say "rindabite", you've little hope of presenting anything of substance, if there be such a thing.

Oh I couldn't be bothered. I've more or less stopped watching most Irish TV.

"I felt sick. We have lost a great and truly magnificent leader."

OMG, get over that fool and get a life!! He's an embarrassment to the country and *I* feel sick to think of him representing us in Europe.

Say hi to Helen for me.

I agree diarmy it there should be a cabinet ministry for that. Pity the constitution does place such a restriction on the number of Ministries. Maybe the upper limit should be changed as things have changed since 1937.

And i certainly agree that the Greens should not be looking after it! Its bad enough they have environment! :P

Well spotted Stephen. Although this could indeed be altered by constitutional referrendum.

I personally think the people of Ireland would approve a cabinet ministry for the Communications and Technology post. This is too important to have lumped in with Energy and Natural Resources in my opinion, and far more important to have the Greens looking after it.

Nice cabinet though impossible under the constitution. To quote article 28.1
"The Government shall consist of not less than seven and not more than fifteen members"
